Shah-Patel Engagement Ceremony

This, has easily ranked in my top 5 photography (and maybe even life experiences).
I can't tell you how nervous I was about this.
Though, this is just a preview of what I saw, I wish that I could just post everything.
I'm still working on editing and what not.

To the story!:
I came across this excellent opportunity at work. One of my coworkers said, "Hey Ashley, my cousin's engagement ceremony is in July. Wanna take some pictures? No pressure!"
At first I was a little hesitant. I don't know what Indian engagement ceremonies are like. I don't know what's important.
However, I couldn't have asked for a better couple or group of people to have experienced this with.
The colors and culture really did all the work for me.
This couple has a family full of awesome.

About the shooting/technicalities:
There are some things I would have tweaked if I could go back.
This really was the first time I've ever used my external flash to it's potential and I don't think it was a bad first go at all.
I'm really starting to get the hang of changing settings quickly and having a rough idea of what they should be before framing a shot.
I think if I had had more cultural knowledge my composition would have been better, I would have known what to look for and what was allowed.
This experience really taught me how important it is to gain experience about other cultures, religions and nationalities.

For the techies:
Most of this ceremony was shot with my 24-70L.

I've got tons more of the actual ceremony and entrance, but I just love this set.

Sorry if this next group seems a little cluttered, and this isn't even all the family pictures! I just really wanted to portray what an awesome, tight-knit family/friend group this couple has. I went outside to photograph pictures of the couple with their immediate family and everyone lined up! I didn't mind at all...I just kept hopping back and forth into the shade. Also, thanks Mayuri for keeping me well hydrated. :)

As a sidebar, I just want to add...that I LOVE Indian food. Proof that just because it's made of vegetables...doesn't make it healthy. Bring on the spice!
